in search of splints
for my ability to comprehend
all that thrives
outside "me".

keeping your light on
despite all those ordinances that fall from on high,
demanding you spend your days
with
lights out.

thanks for keeping your oars moving in
the ever stubborn current.
some confess they don't really know where the shore
hangs, these days,
but as my tall balding pard in silverlake says
it's never the destination
always
simply
its
the journey getting there.


thanks for the music,
it keeps finding its road map to
my ears,
and when it sidles through my hearing,
my "heart" learns
its
true
pedigree.

thanks, finally,
for your particular bone structure
of
evolving
jazz.
ever fall purposely down to "prove" the
gravity of any situation.
without
