'Inappropriate': James Lumsden was sacked after making sexual remarks to female students
Teacher at all-girls school sacked after telling teenage pupils: 'If I was your pimp, I'd be very rich'

A teacher at an all-girls' school was sacked after making inappropriate comments to teenage girls about their breasts and telling them: 'If I was your pimp I would be very rich.'
James Lumsden also told one 14-year-old girl to 'stop shaking her boobs and sit down', a disciplinary tribunal heard.
The maths teacher also announced to students that he 'liked a girl in uniform' after a school visit from the Ministry of Defence.
Lumsden was sacked from
Southfield School for Girls, Kettering, Northamptonshire, after senior
teachers found out he'd had a conversation with a group of teens about
prostitution.
After two teenage girls raised the subject of
prostitutes with Lumsden , he told them: "If I was your pimp and had
your name and number, then I would be very rich.
'But you
would be the one taking the risk and not keeping much of the money.'
He
also discussed the chances of being raped if they worked as
prostitutes, and after one student asked about the tips available, he
said: 'The odd £10 slipped into their garter is not a lot of money
considering the risks.
The subject was raised during a class
discussion about the benefits of different careers and salaries.
Lumsden
was immediately sacked, and has not worked as a teacher since.
A
committee of the General Teaching Council last week gave Lumsden a
formal reprimands, and criticised him for needlesly drawing attention to
a young girl's breasts
The committee also found he had encouraged the girls to talk about sex.
Committee chair Chris Cook
said: 'These comments all arose as a result of Mr Lumsden being an
active participant in sexualised banter.
'They should never
have been allowed during a lesson with 14-year-old pupils.
'The
words used were entirely unnecessary and inappropriate.
'It is not possible to consider any rehabilitative steps or whether the behaviour has been, or might be, repeated, as Mr Lumsden was dismissed following the events in question, and has not returned to teaching.'
