From Luciole contributor/friend S.A. Griffin: Submit to The Poetry Bomb!!
Categories: news, National, Luciole Press, Literature, Writing, International, Friends, Cultures, Art

Currently seeking international submissions of poetry to place inside the converted bomb. One submission per person, please! Subs must be flat and NO BIGGER than 8.5x11 inches. That means that your sub can be smaller than 8.5x11, but no bigger. Text/image on one or both sides.
If you are writing in any language that is not english, it would be nice if your native language were on one side of the piece and a possible english translation were on the other. I do plan on reading some of submissions at each and every stop along the tour.
Also, please note on your submission where you are from along with your name/signature. Not your address, but where you are sending your submission from. In other words, something like this: "S.A. Griffin, Los Angeles, Ca., U.S.A."
Please make sure that contact information is included with your submission, both your snail mail and your email addresses.
Nothing hard or solid, like wood, metal or hard plastic. Must be flexible so it can conform and share space with the other submissions.
If you expect to get anything back, please send with s.a.s.e. to:
S.A. Griffin
P.O. Box 29171
Los Angeles, Ca. 90029-0171
I will not accept any submissions that advocate or are violent in statement or purpose.
If your submission is kept for inclusion inside the belly of the bomb, obviously you will not be getting it back. I will have one time rights to publish your work in hardcopy form. Upon publication, all rights will revert to the authors. If you do not wish to see your work published and only wish for it to exist inside the bomb, please let me know.
In regards to the s.a.s.e, I would like to send something back to everyone who submits, but only if you send an s.a.s.e (stamped self addressed envelope) along with your submission.
I am not accepting electronic submissions, only hard copy. I want to know that you took the time to create it, and that you have actually handled the piece yourself. That it is something personal. I also do not have the time or the money to be reproducing things on my end, ink is expensive. I'm already spending time and money converting the bomb and documenting the entire thing. So please, no electronic submissions.
I am planning on converting the piece by placing a window on it much like you would see in a van conversion. That way folks can see what it is inside of it. This will also allow me to be able to remove or add items as I wish for either display or inclusion. After prep, I will give this baby a primo paint job as if it were a classic car. Plan on leaving the dings and small dents so that it remains what it is: one used bomb. Planning on taking it on tour across the U.S. sometime in spring/late spring 2010.
Also soliciting/accepting donations of cash to help convert/create the piece and to fund the tour.
Please distribute, spread the good word.
Message me for further info.
~ S.A. Griffin
The Poetry Bomb is a former U.S. military practice bomb. The artifact will be completely converted into a beautiful object filled with poetry from around the world. When finished, it will have a primo paint job just as if it were a classic car, complete with pin-striping. It will also have a window or portal that will open and close making it possible to not only see inside of the piece, but to take poems out at performances to read out loud, and to add future submissions. Once converted, I will take The Poetry Bomb on tour across the United States, and then, who knows? Plan on beginning the tour in late April of 2010.
I am soliciting funds not only to create The Poetry Bomb, but also, to then take The Poetry Bomb on tour.
Everyone who contributes anything at all will be listed as a participant in the project as a part of The Bomb Squad on Facebook and in any subsequent documentation.
You can follow the progress of the project, help spread the word and get more specifics about submissions (everyone is welcome, everyone!) at the Facebook fan page, "The Poetry Bomb". Please, SUBMIT TO THE BOMB!
(*The short presentation film, "THE POETRY BOMB" is by Christopher Lockett, that's his music in the background too. Thanks Chris!)
