Video: Dvořák - Czech Suite, Op. 39 - I. Preludium - Part 1/5
DVORAK
Czech Suite (Exton)
One of the loveliest of Antonin Dvorak's lighter works is his Czech Suite, dating from spring 1879. It certainly has a delightful springlike freshness, especially in this superbly recorded new performance by the Czech Philharmonic under erstwhile chief conductor Zdenek Macal. The suite shares the CD with an almost equally popular suite by Dvorak's son-in-law, Josef Suk, entitled Pohadka (or Fairytale). ****
