A new poem sent in by Luciole Press contributor/friend Scott Wannberg: "just a midnight room"

just a midnight room

just another midnight room
plot elements in every tune
bag em at the big counter
time is pulling up in the drive
favorite songs ask for your name
there's no need to explain
i dry easy in the rain
just another forgotten hand
skipping across the wire
just another storyteller's balloon
it'll float you easy
just say i do
the werewolf needs to shave
big morning for him on the way
all these people
just another change of address
the family please press no duress god bless
i saw the singers in between tombs
everyone had their script
you're up on some lonesome table
the band just said your name
just a midnight room
on it's effortless merry way
all the people
i see them wonder why
there's an all night anything will do
just a midnight moon
saying
i love you
all the people
won't worry about the thunder
another man's life
the dreams come and go
see you when we reach the end of the sale
just a midnight tune
any one can join in
the hearing aid the world wears
never heard of nuance
get me my pogo-stick
i'm gonna go up
i'm gonna come down
all the people
any one join in
see you
