FIREFIGHTER'S WORDS -73- INVENTIONS TO SAVE LIVES
(please check Kurt's blog, as no matter what I do, the info will not appear on-screen)

I was raised in a small, rural and remote area of Northern California . I had my first job at12 because my family needed the money. I began inventing in the early 80's. I worked in trauma medicine for 14 years and then put myself back through school and got my Mechanical drafting and design degree (AS)  I worked for a couple of different manufacturers between late 80's early 90's.

I then decided I would "change the world" so I started my own business. That took longer than I thought and was almost disastrous because the first business officially opened on 9/11/01. There was no way to predict that horrible day, but it was etched in my memory. What was I going to do as I watched the events unfold and saw the heroes fall.

In October of  2007 I started a new company called FireDrake Industries, LLC. When we started, a firefighter came to us that had an invention that he thought would save a  lot of lives. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the answer for saving lives in industrial fires, structure fires, where there may be BLEVE's or other HazMAT situations including transportation accidents including tankers and things that firefighters shouldn't get close to. Situations that kill them.  This will never take the place of firefighters. It is just an excellent tool in the arsenal.

While developing the Mobile Monitor, I started looking at the tools and equipment for Firefighters and compared them to soldiers...I couldn't believe that our heroes fighting in Iraq were treated so much better than our heroes here in our homeland. The soldiers had the best gear, the best and latest weapons and tools and firefighters were still using tools and tactics that were developed almost 100 years ago. Suddenly, I knew that this is my calling. This is what I must do which is to make the job of firefighting safer for all who put their lives on the line to protect our lives and property.

I developed the LSIN program (sounds like Listen-- acronym for Life Saving Inventor's Network.)

http://www.firedrakeindustries.com/lsin.php  Through the program we provide a venue to other firefighters that see a way of making their jobs safer, more efficient, or saves lives by cutting time.

Every product we have is meant to save a life, either a firefighter, a civilian, or both. We have had a rough time of it right now because of the economy. If anyone would be interested in helping us by investing in the company, please send them my way. My engineer and I have not been paid for months but we are still trying to get this word out and I believe in it so much I have mortgaged my house to the hilt trying to get enough money. Our company being a year old and having this economic thing happen is definitely like rain on a parade. We (I) personally can't afford to fail and if I do, firefighters will keep dying and that is the worst thing of all.
