Tonight I was watching...
I just really like these movies. I find them inspiring in that it shows no matter how far down someone is, through determination and discipline they can overcome the most seemingly desperate and hopeless of circumstances. Of course, I can hear arguments about the likely impossible nature of any given scene, etc. etc. Irregardless, I like the ideas of perserverance and beating peoples' expectations, and the varied expressions of love, both complicated (David Carradine and Uma Thurman) and simple and direct (Uma and her daughter). Both powerful motivators.
A good New Year's fest.
And that scene in the snow between Lucy Liu and Uma? Sheer beauty.
